We are longtime fans of Desi, having first heard him perform at a local restaurant. For several years following, we continued going to hear him on a regular basis—it was like a weekly trip to the islands! We have enjoyed many of his additional performances at various venues and events and continue to do so as often as we can. In June 2013, we engaged Desi for our own retirement party. His outstanding performance (including the accompanying percussionist and dancers) was the highlight of the event for all of our guests. Desi’s warm, friendly, and outgoing personality endears him to his audiences as much as his versatile performance as an accomplished vocalist and musician. We consider ourselves fortunate to call Desi our friend.

We had our wedding in Shelter Island, San Diego this past year. We had Desi preform music for our ceremony and for a cocktail hour we hosted afterwards. The music was beautiful, and our guest loved him.
He was a perfect fit for our beach wedding.

"My wife and I were introduced to Desi a few years ago when he played at one of our neighborhood picnics. Ever since, we have enjoyed his wonderful, Hawaiian music at various local events (friends and neighbors parties, clubs, restaurants, night clubs, Hawaiian Luaus, Hawaiian Concerts and Hula Performances). The combination of his guitar and vocals make for a beautiful Hawaiian sound that can easily mesmerize you."

We hired Desi for our Backyard Hawaiian Party on 16 August 2015. He is excellent to work with and very accommodating. Many of our guests play the Ukulele and several are Hula Dancers. His song choices were great, including several for our Hula dancers to accompany him. After an hour or so we broke out the Ukuleles and had a jam session lead by Desi. Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the music, dancing and jamming with Desi. We are constantly reminded of how much everyone enjoyed the party. We will plan another event this year so wecan enjoy Desi’s style, music and Aloha.

Tony and Lisi Wedding

Throughout our courtship Tony and I frequently ate at a local venue on Thursday nights specifically so we could listen to Desi. We have visited Kauai twice and definitely fell in love with the island, and more in love with each other. Desi brought the island vibe here to Oceanside and we would find ourselves just swooning in love to his songs. A few of my favorites he sings are Guava Jelly and Honey baby. Tony finally asked me to marry him in May of 2013, and immediately I KNEW I had to have Desi be part of our special day! Desi learned the song that Tony had playing when he proposed - that is the song that I made my entrance to, the song that brought tears to Tony's eyes. Desi has a voice like "butta"!

Bonnie and Phil Bracken

We had Desi play at our son's wedding rehearsal dinner and he was just the perfect fit. He played during cocktail hour and his beautiful melodious music was the wonderful tropical sound we wanted. I still get a tear in my eye when I remember him playing "The Hawaiian Wedding Song" as we all danced as couples and families to that amazing voice and guitar. CHUCK AND GENA N.

Gena & I were celebrating our wedding anniversary in 2011 and had decided to drive down to Oceanside to check out some good Hawaiian music that we had heard about. We stopped in at the restaurant where this little group was playing. Gena mentioned to me while we were eating that these guys were really good . Desi Relator entertained the guests with a lively mix of music and we found ourselves sitting there for the full 3 hours that they played.

As we drove back to San Bernardino later that evening we found ourselves humming some of the songs that Desi had sung and we decided that we would definitely go back. We went down at least once a month and sometimes more often. Gena told our sister-in-law, Susie and my brother, Larry about this great band that we were driving to see and the first thing you know we were all piling in the car on Thursday nights for the drive to Oceanside (from San Bernardino). Gena also got her family (total of 17) from the San Diego area, hooked on Desi’s music that they too became Desi followers.

We enjoyed Desi’s singing so much that we asked him if he would be available on July 15^th, 2012 to sing at an upcoming 100^th birthday party in San Diego for Gena’s dad, Henry. They performed for our family. Everyone loved the music and Henry was able to dance with his granddaughter, our daughter.

We have enjoyed listening to Desi’s smooth voice and still follow him as often as we can. We purchased his CD so his music travels with us whenever we’re on the road.

I first heard Desi sing approximately 5-6 years ago at a local restaurant. I was awe struck by his beautiful melodies and pure tone. I have always liked Hawaiian music, and have most of the major groups on CD. When I first heard Desi sing, and if I had my eyes closed, I would swear that IZ was singing right in front of me! Desi and I became friends through surfing and going to listen to him at least once a week. On my 65th birthday, we wanted to do something special. Desi was kind enough to come and sing at my party. He and the party were a success, mostly because of Desi's singing. I have heard Desi in many types of venues, from small cafes to the Moonlight Theater in Vista, Ca. He was always professional and puts on an enjoyable show. I consider Desi to be one of the most fun and entertaining singers I have experienced.
